Sandra Santiago, is a Chicago based early childhood educator, activist, published artist\/illustrator, artisan, performance poet and actress. She has her B.A in education from Roosevelt University Chicago, Illinois. She was a finalist in the 2011 and 2013 Gwendolyn Brooks Open Mic contest. Her one woman show, Barrio Love Song, was a finalist in Teatro Vista\u2019s 2012 YO SOLO festival.<\/p>\n After being published in various anthologies including Shades of Ritual (2014), Cantologia (2014) Rebeldes: A Proyecto Latina Anthology (2013),The Poetically Unspoken Anthology (2010), Shades of Faith; Minority Voices in Paganism Anthology and The Journal of Ordinary Thought (Fall 2009 \/Winter 2009), and the on-line journal, Everyday Ordinary Things and Dicen Quien Dicen, she now celebrates the release of her FIRST book of poems. The poems are an autobiographical narrative of growing up as a child of an alcoholic and coming into her own. They’ve performed throughout Chicago and the state of Illinois, Indiana Puerto Rico, New York. Performances include opening for opened up for Ivy Queen and La India in concert, featuring at The World Music Festival in Chicago, Momma’s Hip Hop Kitchen in New York, International Salsa Congress, University of Illinois, Northeastern University, Loras College North Park\u00a0Roosevelt University & De Paul University<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
